A new creature has been spotted trekking across the Tibetan plateau. Is it an animal? a human?? an alien??? No! It is a gnome!!! Normally, we see yaks, sheep, picas, and chiru (Tibetan antelope), as these (other than the sheep) are native to the area. I was just getting ready to post about some of the wildlife here, but then this gnome appeared!!! I guess this gnome has been traveling around the world, and even invaded some bedtime stories! I think that he would bring on night terrors or nightmares instead of helping me to go to sleep! As it is turning cold here on the plateau, I am sure that he won't be staying very long. He just isn't dressed warm enough! Most folks have pulled out their sheepskin lined wool clothing -- the ones with the artificial sheepskin smell better than the ones lined with real sheepskin. I have a wolf-lined vest that I wear, and even after being dry cleaned four times, it still smells wild! If the winter cold (or wild smells) don't drive him away, maybe the gnome will just wander off... It's too late in the season now to cross the Himalayas, but he may want to go someplace just to get warm. If you steal him, or if he just shows up on your
doorstep blog, be sure to let Tim know, so that he can try to track him down.
