My blogger friend, Sharon, Tagged me for this little game. It is Saturday morning, and I want to play!
10 Wonderful Things That Start with "T"
Tibet and the Tableland (plateau). The land and the people I love, where I live and work.
Trilliums. I love these little white flowers in early spring. And sometimes I get so homesick for Oregon!
Trumpets, Trombones, Tubas, especially in a Brass Choir (I play French Horn)
Truffles (and all dark chocolate); and Taffy, especially peppermint saltwater Taffy.
Tip Top peak experiences, mountains that I have climbed (including the Grand Teton) and the friends that I have climbed with (and also be other types of Tip Top peak experiences emotionally, spiritually, and just with life in general)
Tamarind, Tarragon, Thyme, Turmeric, and all spices! I love to cook, and I love to experiment with spices!
Table wine (and all nice wines, especially buttery chardonnays)
Travel, especially to places like Tadjikistan (where I participated in a medical clinic), Trinidad,
Togo and Tobago (where I have never been), the Taj Mahal (I absolutely loved the Taj), and Turkey (I want to go back!), and if I can travel by Train, that is even better! I can’t forget Tanning in Thailand, and the Turtles sunning themselves on the beach during my trip to Hawaii last spring. A wonderful Trip! (Thanks, Ann).
Treatment table (especially mine), and the Tactile sense that God has given me to feel incredible things going on in the body, and so that I am able to help my patients heal their own bodies.
Thanksgiving and Turkey! I love the Thanksgiving holiday, the meal and the Turkey, and all that the holiday represents, including the Charlie Brown movie that tells the story of the Pilgrims and the first Thanksgiving. I will be showing it to some friends next week, as we eat pie Together!
TEA! (Sorry, but I have to add an 11th!) I especially love Nepali Tea, and it is great that I live in China, for they are known for having more types of Tea than anywhere else in the world! I wouldn’t want to have to move anywhere else, for all the tea in China!
5 bad things that start with "T":
Tofu. I like jiachang dofu (home-style tofu), and mapo dofu (tofu stir fried in hot sauce), but I hate chou dofu (stinky dofu) -- the smell alone makes me sick!
Tailpes (clubfoot). While its cause is not truly known, it is often associated with malnutrition of the mother, and may be inherited. I have seen so many patients with this problem. In developed nations, it is treated and corrected when the person is still a baby, but in Asia, it is often untreated and is unnecessarily disabling.
Tamoxifen. Not the drug itself, as it is used to treat breast cancer, but just that the word is associated with breast cancer. This is bad, in fact, I hate all cancers.
Ticklers and Teasers. Tickles and Teases in themselves aren't bad, but when the Tickler or Teaser doesn’t stop when you tell them to, it becomes abusive.
Tsampa! Ok, this is Toasted barley flour, and it is the staple food of the Tibetans, but it really is an acquired Taste (even though it is pretty Tasteless).
Tapeworms. Need I say more? (Whoops! Is this 6? who's counting...)
