Sitting in the hotel lobby, I saw them. A group of women were talking and laughing, sharing photos of a time long ago. The tallest in the group had spiky hair, finely tinted and shaded, covering up gray hair in a very modern cut. Her small copper colored glasses brought out the color in her hair, and balanced the angle of her jaw. I saw flashes of her with long blonde hair, the same laugh, the same weight, and with a slightly better posture in her younger version. What experiences she must have had over the years!
The second woman has crinkles around her eyes and mouth, her hair is mostly gray with a few chunks of blond, red, and brown, cut in a style unchanged with the passing of years, and a body that has born several children. Flashes of her reveal a slimmer body, and slightly better posture. The same laugh and smile persist through the years. Have her children aged her more than her years deserve?
The third woman has more sadness and a distance in her eyes. She laughs with the others, is much quieter than the first two. Flashes of her reveal more laughter, more spontaneity, and more liveliness. While time has been good to her physically, her spirit seems to carry the burden of an intense life.
The fourth woman has a deep hollowness in her eyes. Was she always this way? Did I just not notice it in the flashes of her youth? A quiet woman, she seems to have not changed over time. She is distant from the others, yet with them physically, and sharing memories. Her soul seems so far drawn within, like she is invisible. I am not sure that any of them really know or see her, for who she really is. Does she even know who she is?
Two men stand around these women, seem to know each other very well. They must be the husbands, as they aren't into the photos and the sharing. One is a silver-gray, with smile wrinkles, and very dry skin, while the other is salt and pepper with clear and vivid, youthful eyes. Both are extremely handsome. Flashes of these two men, tall, lean, with brown hair, laughing and talking together. One of them brings everyone back to the current time, saying, “You, women! This is so incredible and amazing! You don’t see each other for years, then you just pick up right where you left off 30 years ago!”
Wow - what a fun moment to observe and record for the prompt! Great job! Hope you are doing well. I've not had much time for blogging lately - things have been very busy at the office as we prepare for the yearly Global Celebration. Wish you could be here to celebrate with us but know you will be in our thoughts. Take care!

Nice observations. People are like tender plants and women are the spice of life.

You have such a good eye for detail, I felt I could almost see them - even in flashbacks to their younger selves. Good job!
